A touch-screen phone that runs a more open OS, runs Flash Player Lite, and is carrier independent? Suddenly, that burning desire I have for an Apple iPhone and its closed environment is gone. Engadget Mobile breaks the story on what Nokia’s touch-screen phone during Nokia’s GoPlay festival on London today. File this under “good artists borrow, great artists steal.”

UPDATE: Scratch that, it was a total mock-up done in post-production to emphasize the possibilities of a touch-screen S60. After the idea settled, I really think Apple still trumps Nokia on interface usability and innovation. A Nokia device would still be wide open for development, though (Apple, take note).

Flash video just went non-proprietary and now supports such flavors as Mp4, MOV, and 3GP. It’s not going to work on the current Flash Media Server, but it’s a big plus on all fronts.

More expensive and with less space, yet the view makes it worthwhile. Daphyn and I left our Fairview apartment and found ourselves roughly 10 blocks from our first apartment up here.

Hopefully, I’ll command as exciting a view next year when I’ll probably trade the Hudson for the Susquehanna.

My friend Lian just posted a site for Fashionably Late for the Relationship (you might have read about it in the Times or scratched your head passing her at Union Square last July). I’m hoping the footage (along with my 1/2 second cameo) will surface, but in the meanwhile, the site features a number of pics by yours truly.

I’ll admit I didn’t bother to clean up many of them (several are slightly underexposed), but it’s definitely cool to see what shots others took of the performance.

Well, it looked good in Photoshop … It’s slowly growing on me now that I see it in a browser, and I suppose it’s a little better than my previou design, which never really came out to be what I wanted it to be. With this version, I’m purposely alienating 800×600 users (upgrade!) and freeing up some space for bigger pictures. Your thoughts?

Guess I’m a little behind the curve here discovering this, but wow, what opportunities. I believe this TED video does better justice explaining it than Microsoft Lab’s Web site.
